Hashtags are a powerful tool for businesses on Instagram. But as with any tool, there is a right way and a wrong way to use them. In this blog post, we’re going to show you how to use hashtags on Instagram the right way so that you can get more eyes on your posts and grow your business. Keep reading or watch the video below!

How Hashtags Work on Instagram

Hashtags are essentially keywords that you can use to describe your products, services, or brand. When you use a hashtag in a post on Instagram, anyone who searches for that hashtag will see your post in the search results.

For example, let’s say you own a jewelry store and you want to reach people who are interested in buying jewelry. You could use hashtags like #jewelrystore, #diamonds, or #engagementrings in your posts. Then, when people search for those hashtags on Instagram, they’ll see your posts in the results.

You can use up to 30 hashtags in an Instagram post, but we recommend using between 5 and 10 so that your post doesn’t look spammy. You can also add hashtags in the comments section of a post if you want to use more than 10 but don’t want them cluttering up your caption.

Choosing the Right Hashtags

Now that you know how hashtags work on Instagram, it’s time to start thinking about which ones you should use for your business. The first step is to come up with a list of relevant keywords that describe what you do or sell.  For example, if you sell shoes, some relevant keywords might be:

-#shoes
-#footwear
-#sneakers
-#heels
-#boots

Then, take those keywords and do some research to see which ones are being used most frequently by other businesses in your industry. You can do this by searching for each keyword on Instagram and looking at the number of posts that come up in the results. The higher the number of posts, the more popular the hashtag is.

Some popular shoe hashtags include:
-#shoelover (#shoelovers has over 13 million posts)
-#soleonfire (over 1 million posts)
-#shoegasm (over 3 million posts)
-#kicks (over 8 million posts)
-#instashoes (over 6 million posts)
-#shoestagram (over 5 million posts)

Once you have a list of relevant and popular hashtags, it’s time to start using them in your posts! Just remember not to go overboard – too many hashtags can make your post look spammy and turn potential followers off from following you. 5-10 is just right. And if you want to use more than 10 hashtags without cluttering up your caption, just add them in the comments section after you publish your post. That’s all there is to it! Using hashtags on Instagram is a great way to get more eyes on your content and grow your business – as long as you do it right! Now go forth and start tagging!]
